The MASP is happy to host the stupendous collection JV of Beuque. This museum has been a pioneer in the valuation and exposure of popular culture and the country, alongside masterpieces like our Picasso, Goya, Cézanne and Van Gogh, we have shown examples of popular creativity. Art is one and what matters is expressing the affairs of mankind. It was this position that we took in full 1940's to buy an entire exhibition of naive José Antônio da Silva, which today is part of the collection of MASP. Or organize a major exhibition "The Hand of the People", today in memory of paulistanos. It is commendable dedication of Beuque organizing for 30 years, this collection of our popular art.

Jacques van Beuque is a savvy collector, researcher of genuine art, inside a duct that differs from the simple art of exotic interested.
